2024 was an historic year for BAMA. We celebrated 20 years since beginning our journey to transform maternal, newborn, and reproductive healthcare in Uganda.

What started as a bold idea between two obstetrician-gynecologists, Drs. Daniel Murokora and Marc Sklar, has grown into a powerful, locally led movement serving a population of over three million people. From innovative research on cervical cancer screening in the early days, to the establishment of emergency referral systems and district-wide health system strengthening today, BAMA has remained rooted in our communities and driven by impact. We mark this milestone with immense gratitude, for our staff, partners, and the communities who have placed their trust in us along the way.

“We didn’t just build an organization—we built a movement that proves what’s possible when local leadership and global solidarity come together.” (Dr. Daniel Murokora, Co-Founder BAMA)

We are very grateful for your continuous support.
