Together Women Rise: A Partnership That Comes Full Circle
At Babies and Mothers Alive (BAMA), long-term partnerships are at the heart of everything we do.
We are proud to share that Together Women Rise has confirmed to support our work with a generous $50,000 grant—a powerful investment in the health and lives of mothers and newborns across Uganda.
This commitment is more than funding. It is a vote of confidence in a shared vision: a future where no woman dies giving life, and every newborn has a chance to survive and thrive.

Scaling What Works
In 2019, BAMA received its first grant to pilot the Mama Rescue Project—a simple yet transformative solution connecting women in labor to transport via mobile phone.
Through this innovation:
Women in labor can quickly access motorcycle taxis
Mothers and newborns with complications are referred via car taxis to higher-level care
That initial support came from Dining for Women—now Together Women Rise—a global community of women and allies committed to advancing gender equality.
With nearly 300 chapters across the United States, Together Women Rise combines community, connection, and collective giving to drive meaningful change worldwide.
Their early investment was the seed that allowed Mama Rescue to take off.
Today, we are proud to share that earlier this year, BAMA was awarded a $50,000 grant to further expand this life-saving initiative.
A true full-circle moment—and a testament to what long-term partnership can achieve.
